The prince and princess together on a rose swing beneath the castle.

Story

Your love story, turned into a quest they play

Rescue Quest is a short browser adventure. The person you make it for plays the hero, crosses a forest and a castle to face the dragon Veyrath, and finds the two of you all the way through it.

The journey

Every CoupleLore game follows the same adventure, finished in one sitting on a phone or a laptop. This is its shape, without the surprises.

  1. Veyrath carries the princess away from the rose swing.

It begins with the two of you

A quiet moment together, until the dragon Veyrath darkens the sky and carries one of you off toward the old castle.

  2. The prince crosses a forest trap course with spikes and swinging spiked logs.

    Through the forest

The road runs through the forest, from its first trees to the trials deep inside it.

  3. A candlelit castle hall with stained glass windows and hanging banners.

    Into the castle

Across the courtyard and through the halls, where your own photos hang on the walls.

  4. Veyrath breathes fire at the prince during the dragon battle.

    Face Veyrath

The dragon waits in its lair. Everything on the way has been leading to this fight.

  5. The prince and princess reunite beneath the rose arch in the finale.

    The finale

The two of you are together again. The ending you chose plays out, and your message is the last thing on screen.

Where the two of you appear

Nothing personal is pasted on top of the game. Each piece is placed inside it, at its own point in the story.

  • Your characters

Upload one clear photo of each person, with their agreement. We use them to draw the stylized pixel-art prince and princess who appear throughout the game.

  • Your names

Wherever the story speaks to one of you, it uses the right name.

  • Your memories

Up to three of your own photographs, hung in frames like this one along the castle walls. They walk past them mid-adventure.

  • Your notes

Up to three short notes, written on parchment and left where they'll be found. Up to 280 characters each.

  • Storm Axe Challenge

Write one question and four answers. A correct answer unlocks the Storm Axe in the game.

  • Your voice

Up to 15 seconds of your own recording, played back as recorded when the ending appears. We don't clone or synthesize voices.

  • Your battle cry

Up to 2 seconds of you shouting something, on the last hit of a combo.

  • Your closing message

The last thing the game shows, in your words. Up to 280 characters.

Make the same fairy tale your own

Birthday, love confession and proposal are not separate games. They are three ways to end the same one: the finale changes to match, then your own message closes the story.

  • A pink birthday cake with lit candles, roses and ribbons.

    A birthday

At the finale, the hero presents a birthday cake.

  • A sealed love letter with a heart seal, surrounded by roses.

    Telling them how you feel

At the finale, the hero offers flowers.

  • A pink jeweled engagement ring beside a rose and scattered petals.

    A proposal

At the finale, the hero kneels and presents a ring. The game does not predict or promise the answer.

Begin your fairy tale

Two photos, two names and the words you want waiting at the end. Everything else is optional.
