CoupleLore Terms of Service
1. What CoupleLore is
CoupleLore sells a personalized browser game built from a standardized pre-designed game experience. The launch product is a single personalized browser game.
CoupleLore is not a consulting service, freelance development service, custom software development engagement, bespoke game-development service, or one-to-one design service. Every buyer receives the same standardized game product, personalized through predefined fields and options.
In these Terms, "CoupleLore", "we" and "us" mean the individual who operates CoupleLore and supplies the digital product. These Terms are an agreement between you and CoupleLore about the product and its use. Your purchase is sold to you by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record (section 8).
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to buy or create a CoupleLore game. CoupleLore does not collect date of birth and does not provide age-verification mechanics at launch.
3. The product
The product is a personalized browser game. Supported occasions are proposal, birthday, and love confession.
Required inputs are two names, two character photos, an occasion, a closing message, creator email, and the permission acknowledgement. Optional inputs are up to three memory photos, up to three notes, a Storm Axe question with four answers, and partner outfit.
Finale Voice Message and Battle Cry are optional personalization features. A Finale Voice Message can be used during the closing message, and a Battle Cry can be used during combat, subject to the recording limits and technical requirements shown in Create. They are your own recordings, played back as recorded; CoupleLore does not clone voices or produce synthetic speech.
4. Pricing and tiers
The same full game and feature set is provided at each launch price tier. The tier changes only the number of generated face options per person:
- $5.99: 1 face option per person.
- $6.99: 2 face options per person.
- $7.99: 3 face options per person.
Prices are one-time payments, with tax included where applicable. The prices above are in US dollars. Depending on the country reported for your connection, a localized price list may instead apply in Turkish lira or euros; the applicable prices are shown on the pricing page and at checkout. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. Checkout shows the final total before you pay.
5. Customer-provided content
You are responsible for the photos, recordings, names, notes, questions, answers and messages you submit. You must only upload photos and recordings of people who have agreed to appear in your private CoupleLore game, and content you have the right, permission or appropriate authority to use in a personalized gift game.
Before submitting, you confirm that the people shown or heard in your photos and recordings have agreed to appear in this private game, and that you have the right to use these materials. CoupleLore records when that confirmation was given. It is your confirmation: CoupleLore does not collect a separate consent record from each person shown or heard.
6. Personalization limits
CoupleLore builds a standardized product from predefined fields and options. The product does not include custom story development, custom software work, manual redesign, custom game mechanics, or one-to-one creative services.
Personalization may be refused or removed if content appears illegal, abusive, sexually explicit, harmful, infringing, deceptive, malicious, or unsafe for the service.
7. AI-generated character faces
Character faces are AI-generated stylized interpretations based on the submitted face crop. They are not exact portraits. CoupleLore does not promise perfect likeness, exact facial reconstruction, or a specific artistic outcome.
Each face is a new pixel-art character head, drawn to be recognisable as the person in the photo, placed on the game's own prince or princess character and used only inside that one private game. CoupleLore does not paste photographs onto other images, produces no photorealistic images or video, and is not a general-purpose image-generation or face-swap tool. Generated heads are not offered as a separate download; Photo Mode in the finished game can save a screenshot of a game scene.
Serious issues can be reviewed by support, but poor likeness alone is not an automatic promise of rerun, replacement or refund.
8. Purchase and Merchant of Record
Your purchase is sold to you by Dodo Payments, which acts as our Merchant of Record and reseller. Dodo handles payment processing, card handling, applicable sales tax/VAT, payment-side refunds and chargebacks. CoupleLore operates the service and delivers the personalized game.
Dodo's own privacy policy applies to the payment information it processes. These Terms do not override mandatory consumer rights or applicable law.
9. Delivery and status
After payment is confirmed, CoupleLore attempts to generate the purchased game. The creator may receive status, selection, management or play links as part of the process.
Delivery can fail because of technical problems, generation failure, provider failure, content refusal, or other service issues. CoupleLore's Refund / Cancellation Policy explains what happens when CoupleLore cannot deliver the complete purchased game.
10. Private-link responsibility
Private links give access to the game. Anyone with a valid play link can open it. Keep private links out of public posts, shared screenshots, analytics tools and support emails.
Where supported, the creator can revoke or replace a play link. Revocation or replacement stops future use of the old link, but cannot retract content already loaded, downloaded, screenshotted, copied or shared.
At launch, a lost status link is not recoverable.
11. Availability
Ready games have no automatic expiry mechanism. CoupleLore does not currently run any process that deletes a ready game after a fixed period, and does not promise a fixed minimum availability period.
Continued access depends on the service continuing to operate, and on any future retention or deletion policy change, which would be communicated appropriately. Removal may also happen because of a verified deletion/erasure request, abuse or security action, legal requirement, or exceptional infrastructure/provider loss outside CoupleLore's reasonable control. CoupleLore does not promise permanent availability.
12. Product-use license
After successful delivery, you receive a personal, non-exclusive right to access and share your delivered game through the private link, subject to these Terms and the private-link model.
You keep the rights you already have in the photos, names, messages, notes and other material you submit. This access right does not transfer ownership of the CoupleLore game code, original game art/assets, interface, product copy or other product materials. It also does not claim ownership of any person's likeness.
13. Personal and non-commercial use
CoupleLore is intended for personal gift use. You may share the private game link with the intended recipient and people you choose.
You may not resell, redistribute, extract, package, sell access to, or commercially exploit CoupleLore product materials or delivered games as a competing product or service.
14. Acceptable use
You must not use CoupleLore to:
- Upload photos or content without the necessary rights or permission.
- Upload photos or recordings of anyone who has not agreed to appear in the game.
- Upload photos or recordings of celebrities, politicians or other public figures.
- Upload photos or recordings of minors (anyone under 18).
- Impersonate anyone, or mislead others about a person's identity, actions or statements.
- Harass, threaten, abuse, shame, deceive or harm another person.
- Submit illegal content.
- Submit sexually explicit or pornographic content.
- Attack, probe, bypass, overload or disrupt the service.
- Upload malware or malicious content.
- Resell, redistribute or extract CoupleLore product materials.
CoupleLore may refuse, remove or disable content or access where needed for safety, security, legal, provider or abuse-prevention reasons.
These rules govern what you submit. CoupleLore does not claim to detect every public figure, minor or missing agreement automatically; where it finds such content or is told about it, it may refuse, remove or disable it.
Anyone whose likeness or voice appears in a CoupleLore game without their agreement can ask for its removal by emailing support@couplelore.com with the subject "Likeness removal request". Each request is reviewed by a person.
If your submitted content follows these Terms and Acceptable Use rules but CoupleLore cannot process it and the complete purchased game therefore cannot be delivered, the Refund / Cancellation Policy applies. If processing is refused because the submitted content violates these Terms or Acceptable Use rules, is illegal, lacks required rights or permission, or contains prohibited material, CoupleLore does not promise an automatic refund. Mandatory consumer rights and applicable law remain unaffected.
15. Support
Support is by email at support@couplelore.com.
To identify a purchase, support may ask for the purchase email, approximate purchase date and optional order number. Do not send status-page links, play/game links, private capability URLs, management links, passwords, tokens, card details or other secrets.
No support response-time commitment is promised.
16. Refund policy relationship
Refund and cancellation handling is described in the separate Refund / Cancellation Policy. That policy is part of the customer-facing purchase information, but it does not override mandatory consumer rights or applicable law.
17. Service availability and technical limitations
CoupleLore depends on browsers, hosting, storage, email, payment and AI providers. The service may be interrupted, delayed or unavailable because of maintenance, provider issues, security controls, abuse controls, network conditions or technical failures.
18. Intellectual property
CoupleLore's brand and product materials, including its game code, original game art/assets, interface, product copy and game systems, remain part of the CoupleLore product or are licensed for use in the product.
You keep whatever rights you already have in content you submit. By submitting content, you allow CoupleLore and its service providers to process it as needed to create, deliver, secure, operate and support the personalized game.
19. Changes
CoupleLore may update these Terms as the product, legal identity, providers, payment setup or launch configuration changes.
